Fiber Artist

About Me

I’m a self-taught artist specializing in tufted and punch needle portraits, where I blend tufting, punch needle, and crochet techniques to create tactile, one-of-a-kind pieces. My work ranges from expressive fiber portraits to playful decor and soft, textured sculptures.

I grew up in South Africa, surrounded by vast landscapes, vibrant flora, and the rich traditions of handmade craft. Today, I live in The Hague, the Netherlands, with my husband Szaszi and our three daughters. My roots remain a central part of who I am and how I create. Nature, the mountains of South Africa, and especially the protea – my favorite flower – are recurring themes in my work, symbolizing resilience, transformation, and beauty.

Inspired by my grandmother, a talented seamstress and woodcarver, I developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and creativity early on. Through Benefactory, I honor that legacy and continue to explore the expressive potential of fiber art.

What I really love is working on custom commissions—especially facial portraits and memory pieces. If you’ve got a special photo in mind, let’s turn it into fiber art! I create soft, touchable punch needle and tufted portraits that bring your favorite faces and memories to life in a cozy, tactile way. Whether it’s a unique gift, a pet portrait, or a special photo you want to feel (literally!), I’d love to make it happen for you.

Fiber art is more than a medium to me—it’s an invitation to connect. I’m fascinated by its physical nature: how texture, color, and touch create work that’s not only seen but felt. With every piece, I hope to spark joy, storytelling, and a sense of creative wonder for all ages.
